N-MS LIMITER ADG

N-MS LIMITER is a Mid/Side Limiter with volume/peak visualization for both the mid and side information of a signal over time.
Most stereo imagers do a great job at showing stereo information and phase coherency but do not visualize the mono or stereo information in a separated time-based context. N-MS LIMITER tries to solve this by using ableton lives’ Gate device, displaying both the mids and sides separately for better understanding of the stereo and mono image in your mixdown or signal!
Pushing both the volume of the side or mono signal starts from above 140hz, as sub sinewaves can hinder the RMS of a signal to get louder unless you crank the release of the limiter down, which can cause distortion.
This device is best used on groups of sounds that are supposed to have a consistent mono/stereo loudness. It’s normal to overlook the stereo or mono image of a few sounds in a whole mix. N-MS LIMITER gives you a simple solution to this problem by giving you the opportunity to scout for sounds in a mixdown with problematic mid or side information!
You can either crank the MIDS or SIDES gains up and let the limiter take care of the rest using a higher release or you can closely monitor the signals that need added volume in either mono or stereo and automate the macros!
FEATURES:
LIMITER RELEASE: This controls the release for both the mids and sides limiter.
SIDES: Increases the input gain of the limiter for the stereo information.
MIDS: Increases the input gain of the limiter for the mono information.
STEREO WIDTH: This controls the overall stereo volume. Any changes here will also be displayed in the SIDES gate monitoring device. Adjust this for phase coherence.
