Studio expert Eli Krantzberg presents a detailed series of video tutorials on Apogee FX plugins! This collection of plugins packs a serious production punch, and this course will help you get the most out of it. Eli demonstrates the various EQs and compressors with a variety of musical examples on different sources, so you can hear each in-action while learning how they work. These videos are for new Apogee FX plugin users.

Eli welcomes you and begins by showing how to set up the FX Rack to host up to six instances of the five different Apogee FX plugins. Then take a quick tour of the three equalizers featured in the collection: ModEQ6, EQP-1A, and MEQ-5. This is followed by a brief overview of the two compressors: ModComp and Opto-3A.

Next, explore how these effects can be used on various sources to achieve specific effects, such as sculpting the tone and impact of an electronic kick drum with the EQP-1A, ModComp, and ModE6. Hear how applying a gentle roll-off on the hats helps maintain their high-end focus and discover how some compression and Pultec EQ can be used on the reverb return of some finger snaps to heighten the rhythmic bloom and tail.

Throughout the rest of the course, you’ll learn many more tips and techniques for various sources, including synth bass, synth keys, guitars, female lead vocals, and a mix bus. To finish the course, Eli takes you on a final play-through of the demonstration track where you can A/B the result with the bypassed version to hear the difference.
