Learn How to Craft Rhythm Guitar Parts and Melodic Solos on the Fly
Finding your part in any size band, especially in large ensembles, is one of the most important skills that a guitarist needs command of — particularly when improvising in a jazz, funk or blues band setting.

In Bob Lanzetti’s Jazz Funk Combustion, Bob demonstrates a variety of techniques and 11 key concepts that he personally uses to spontaneously arrange guitar parts and improvise melodically on his solo records and with his band, Snarky Puppy.

NY based Bob Lanzetti has performed in over 40 countries with the three time Grammy® Award-Winning jazz/funk collective, Snarky Puppy. A brilliant guitarist, composer and producer, Bob is also a passionate and insightful educator, which is why we are thrilled to welcome Bob to the family with his first TrueFire course, Jazz Funk Combustion.

”We’ll dive deep into a variety of ways to craft complimentary guitar parts. We’ll work on motivic development, rhythmic displacement, superimposition, and connecting triads. I’ll share some of my favorite voicings and comping approaches.

I’ll show you how to superimpose scales and triads for more colorful lines, layer rhythmic parts, and improvise off of a melody. We’ll also cover whammy bar techniques, hybrid picking and dialing in effects to create atmosphere and texture.

I’ll show you how to framework your learning journey, set goals and practice efficiently to accelerate your progress. I’ll teach you how to “listen deeper” to develop your ears.

We’ll put all 11 of these key concepts and technique to work across 15 soloing performance studies using backing tracks to give you a musical context.”

Bob will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches along the way. You’ll get standard notation and tabs for all of the performance studies. Plus, you’ll be able to use TrueFire’s learning tools to sync the tab and notation to the video lesson.

You can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace. All of the backing tracks are included to work with on your own as well.

Grab your guitar and let’s dig in with Bob Lanzetti!
